It is officially the first day of fall. What does that mean? Pumpkin spiced lattes, apple picking, hot cider and of course, fall fashion. I know that ladies everywhere are ready to hang up their sundresses and tank tops and make room for new fall wardrobes.
Keeping up with the latest trends every fall can be exhausting and can break the bank. We are sharing a few must-have essentials for your closet. All of these items can be mixed and matched, making picking out your outfits in the morning much easier. We’d also be willing to bet you have at least a few of these already hanging in your closet.
TOPS:
Chambray Button-Up
Chambray tops go with anything. Tuck it in with a skirt, and you’re ready for the office. Pair it with a white shirt underneath and dark jeans with cool boho jewelry, and you’re ready for a night out with your girls.
White T-Shirt
The perfect white tee is a basic essential that every woman owns. Not every woman, however, knows that their perfect white tee paired with a midi skirt and a statement necklace, or a blazer and editor pants is a great way to dress up that plain old tee.
Fitted Blazer (any color)
At first, we were going to write “Neutral Colored Blazer,” however bold blazers work just as well. Pick a perfect fitted blazer that can be dressed up or dress down, and mixed with any style you are going for. After all, with the weather getting cooler, it’s all about LAYERS.
BOTTOMS:
Dark, Skinny/Straight Leg Jeans
Again, something every girl should have already in her closet. They don’t have to be “skinny,” but any nice dark straight leg jeans will do. Live in them, and don’t go by that old “denim on denim doesn’t work” rule. It does work! I like to just make sure that your denims don’t match.
Cropped Dress Pants (Cigarette or Editor Pants)
PERFECT for the office, interviews, or a night out and about. They are trendy and professional, without being stuffy.
Midi Skirt
The midi skirt is so chic because not only is it incredibly stylish, but it goes with everything and is ALWAYS appropriate. You can dress it down with flats or dress it up with a great pair of heels and a statement necklace.
As for shoes, our favorites are oxfords, loafers and heeled booties for fall. For jewelry and accessories, we’re all about anything leopard, statement necklaces and oversized watches. We picked the above six essentials because you can literally mix and match these items in any way, and it always works (pictures below, all courtesy of Pinterest).
What do you think? Did we miss any must-have essentials for this fall?
